NWO Masterclass VENI call 2022 (two sessions)

Obtaining a VENI-grant from NWO is an important milestone in the research career of (young) scientists in the Netherlands. The Talent Scheme is highly competitive with average success rates between 10% and 25% depending on year and science division.
In this training we distinguish between the quality of the project and the quality of the written proposal text. Both have to be excellent to be successful.
We will address the typical characteristics of a VENI application considering the different NWO domains and incorporating recent developments including signature of the DORA agreement by NWO and the latest development on “Knowledge Utilization”. In addition, focus will be on evaluation criteria for the PI, the research project and knowledge utilisation including their interrelationship and in combination with the proposal template.
This workshop is directed towards talented researchers who plab to submit VENI pre- proposal under call 2022 in September 2022 and possibly a full proposal in January 2023. Participants will receive strategic and practical input for developing a competitive VENI project and writing a convincing proposal thereby increasing their chances to receive this prestigious grant.
